Flakie and Summer Longing

Tuesday, January 31, 2012
I wish it was summer right now. The cold weather makes everything so depressing! I want to be able to walk around in my apartment without 15 layers on! Haha, well, I tried to bring the summer out on my nails.

I used Zoya's Maisie over Phoebe. I used Mitzi on the accent nail. So adorable!

P.S. - Click on the pic. You will see the yumminess!

Here they are are with sunlight, no flash.

Indoor, no flash.

The flakies always look pretty no matter where you are!

Glitter Gal Black

Monday, January 30, 2012
That is all. Well, besides my suuuuuppper short nails and uneven filing. =[ I want longer nails, please!

Enlarge to see the yummy, spazz-tastic, fabulousness that Glitter Gal Black is. I'll try to get a pic in the sun at some point!

Have a fabulous Monday.

Snow Nails

Saturday, January 28, 2012

The weather here has been really horrendous lately. I fell on some black ice the other day and broke three nails. THREE. =/ So now I have the most nubbiest nubbins ever. lol. They really look horrible. Here is a design I did awhile ago.

Snow nails.
I used a sponge to put a NYC White and Zoya Dove on as a base and then used Sally Hansen's Gem-Tastic for the glitter. The dots and flake/star were done with a Kiss Striper.

Stop SOPA.

Shiny Leopard!

Saturday, January 14, 2012
My new Zoya polishes arrived today! Now I just need Bevin and Maisie to get here. Honestly, Zoya is an extremely pleasant brand and Art of Beauty has been a pleasure to order through. The amount of promos they do and the fun they have on FB and Twitter make them so relatable. (Com major, anyone?)

Anyway, my bestie stayed with me for a few days and now I am exhausted! I didn't want to do anything extravagant, so I used Charla and Trixie for a quick leopard print. Charla is just GORGEOUS and shiny.

I used OPI's Nail Envy as the base (I've been trying to strengthen my nails), 2 coats of Charla, black acrylic paint and Trixie for the leopard/spots. Top coat is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.

Shimmery goodness! Sorry for the glare, it's too dark right now. =/

I wish I had a better camera! I also need a new memory card. The one I have right now only holds 4 photos. FOUR! That makes it hard to get a good photo in a convenient manner. My mom took my 8 GB one a long time ago and I haven't seen it since. =/

Have a fabulous weekend! Can you believe January is already half over?

EDIT: Because I was in such a leopard mood, I did a purple version! I used Wet n Wild's Gray's Anatomy over a black creme. Then I used Zoya Demi and the black for spots. =]] Not an accurate representation of Gray's Anatomy.

"Water" Colors!

Monday, January 9, 2012
Chalkboard Nails recently did watercolor nails. I have been wanting to try the look on my nails for awhile! is my attempt. Not as good as hers, but still.

I used four different colors, a brush, and some acetone. There are instructions and a link to a how-to video on Chalkboard's post! Go check it out.

The base is Wet n Wild megalast Hush Hush/Ultra-Secret. The Purple is Zoya Demi (not only do I LOVE the color, it also has my name)! The blue is N.Y.C. 115A and the yellow is 114A. I haven't used these two since high school. Using them now made me remember why. They were hard to work with. =/

They didn't turn out amazing, but they are full of color and fun to look at!
My top coat is Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri. For some reason I am LOVING this top coat. Not only does it give a great shine, my manis seem to last for days with it on.

Delicate Flakies!

Thursday, January 5, 2012
Quick Post!

I'll try to get a better picture, but I was at work when I took this...with my phone. Anyway, Zoya Jessika just looks so darling in the bottle. This was two coats with a layer of Nubar 2010 over it. I think the flakies make it look super delicate. Such a simple, girly mani. The hearts and abstract are just Kiss white and silver stripers.

I hope to try more polishes and designs in the future. For right now, spring semester is about to start again. =/ This blog will be my stress reliever, or so I hope!

Did any of you take advantage of Zoya's two free promotion yet? I did, along with the free shipping with a purchase over $25. I ordered Trixie, Veruschuka, Charla, Sooki, Phoebe and Lolly (the last two I have minis of). There are still a few days left!

I can't wait for them to show up!

New Year! New Blog! Hello!

Monday, January 2, 2012
Hello and Happy New Year! I'm Demi! My goal is to start this nail blog after what seems like the ten billionth time. I am a college student on a VERY low budget. I can't afford to buy a new polish whenever I please, but I hope to build up my collection like many of the lovely ladies who are dedicated to the nailverse.

Forgive the messiness...I quickly threw these together for New Year's Eve. Zoya Phoebe as the base, Sally Hansen Gem Crush in Blingtastic for the glitter, Kiss stripers in black, white and silver. Black Acrylic paint for the words and numbers. Sally Hansen base coat, Seche Vite top.

Not an accurate representation of Zoya Phoebe. Gorgeous IRL.
