Watercolor Floral Pattern Nails

Tuesday, August 6, 2013
Hello! <3
Today I have some really gorgeous watercolor flowery nails to show you all! I'm almost surprised at how these turned out. I think they look so delicate and pretty.

Stay tuned, because a tutorial for these will be posted tomorrow.

I used all Zoya nail polishes for this look. The white base is Purity. The purple is Demi, the blue is Rocky, and the leaves are Shawn. I topped it all off with SV.

This is the photo I posted on Instagram! If you don't follow me there, I post a A LOT more frequently via this social platform. Check out @demisnails and #demisnails for more! (Look out for some cute pictures of Zip the Dog, too)!

Inspired by a Swimsuit - Colorful Chevron/ZigZag Nails

Sunday, July 14, 2013
Hello lovelies!

Today I have some nails that were inspired by a Target swimsuit found here

I just loved the pattern, so I decided to recreate it. I even did BOTH hands. :D

And below is my right hand! Yay for doing nail looks on BOTH hands!

The base coat is China Glaze For Audrey.
I used acrylic paint for the chevrons because acrylic is easier to work with when free-handing small lines!

Day 7: 7 Days of Pink, Orange, and Yellow

Saturday, June 1, 2013

Happy Saturday. It's been a crazy week! I've had a few interviews - and I just accepted a job offer! I will join you all in the adult/real world on the 10th! Yay!

It's going to be a great feeling to have actual paychecks coming in for once. :D

Here is the last installment of P. O. and Y. days! I added in some blue because I am missing the water in WA.

The idea for the sea shells and star fish came from cutepolish's tutorial on YouTube.

I took these pictures outside because it is 101 degrees, sunny and CRAZY HOT in Scottsdale today. :D

Polishes Used:
Zoya Charla
Zoya Shelby
Zoya Pippa
Zoya Arizona
Silver Acrylic Paint

Day 6: 7 Days of Pink, Orange, and Yellow

Monday, May 27, 2013
Hello! I hope you have enjoyed your long weekend if you had one.
However, today is a great big "thank you" to those who have served our country!

For day 6, I went with mostly pink. On my ring finger, I used Nubar 2010 to add a very subtle yellow/orange tint. :)

Day 5: 7 Days of Pink, Orange, and Yellow

Saturday, May 25, 2013
Hello! Sorry for the little break there! I adopted a dog last week and have been busy training him. I've also been looking for a job! (Psst…if you know anyone in the Scottsdale area hiring creative people/recent advertising graduates, shoot me an e-mail). :)

Stick around for a few pictures of my new pup! We named him Zip.

On to the nails! Just some random designs.

And now, here is Zip! He is a 2 year-old Australian Terrier Mix (according to his adoption papers). We found him at PetSmart (can you believe we went in there looking for a betta fish and came out with a dog instead)?!

This is the day we got him, dirty and happy and recently neutered.

Isn't he just gorgeous?!

Now, here he is, freshly groomed and smelling fabulous! This was taken today. I miss his long hair, but with the heat in AZ we decided to cut it all off for now.

Day 4: 7 Days of Pink, Orange, and Yellow

Wednesday, May 15, 2013
Hello lovelies! Today I have a gradient with glitter to show you for the fourth installment of Pink/Orange/Yellow week!

Also, stick around until the end of the post to see some ADORABLE shoes I picked up today (they match my blog)!

Polishes used:
Hard Candy - Black Tie Optional

Annnnndddd now, for one of the most awesome finds of the year:

Shoes that MATCH MY BLOG! I was floored when I walked past them at Nordstrom's! I knew I needed them because it's my blog design and I love leopard print! Aren't they just adorable?

Stick around for day 5!

Day 3: 7 Days of Pink, Orange, and Yellow

Tuesday, May 14, 2013
Good afternoon! Here is the third look for my Pink, Orange and Yellow week! I went with a vibrant dotticure. Dotticures are simple and easy to do if you have limited time!

Stick around for day 4!

Day 2: 7 Days of Pink, Orange, and Yellow

Monday, May 13, 2013
Hello! Today I have the second installment of my Pink, Orange, and Yellow endeavor! I'm absolutely loving how these turned out!

I mixed one of my favorite techniques (watercolor) with some funky zigzags. Check it out!

These were all done with a very small brush! The watercolor effect can be achieved by dabbing VERY diluted polish (with acetone) onto your nail. NOTE: Be sure to put a blob of polish on tin foil or palette when mixing with acetone so that you don't ruin your bottle of nail polish.

I think I can direct traffic with how bright these nails turned out! :D

Stick around for day 3!

I'm back!!!! 7 Days of Pink, Orange, and Yellow

Sunday, May 12, 2013
Hello my lovely readers! It's been a whirlwind of a couple of weeks. I made it to Scottsdale safely (driving from Washington to Arizona is a looooong and boring drive, let me tell you). Anyway, I am trying to settle in by adjusting to the heat (it's 96 right now at 7:08 p.m.), job hunting, and catching up on my nail art endeavors.

I'm so sorry that I was so sporadic in my posts, but with my final semester in college, my graduation, and the move…things were bound to get a little hectic. I want to thank you all for sticking around. I hope to get this blog on a roll again now that I will have more time (and hopefully a regular schedule once I find a job).

To kick off my return to blogging, I am doing "7 Days of Pink, Orange, and Yellow" manicures! Let's get started with the first day!

Tropical Look

I wanted something floral and happy, so I did a dark and light pink gradient, then randomly placed orange flowers on my nails. I used a thin brush and some thinned out yellow to outline the flowers.

As you can see, I have quite the tan on my hands! This happened during the drive to AZ! :)

Overall, it was a quick and messy manicure, but I really enjoyed the cute flowers and the vibrance of the colors!

Stick around for day two!

Bright Dots

Saturday, April 20, 2013
Hello! I have some juicy and bright nails to show you today!

I wanted something bright and cheery, so I chose bright blue and lime green (these are also the colors of an advertising campaign for Idaho that I'm working on)!

Polishes used:
Base/Blue - OPI No More Room for the Blues
Glitter - BAM Nail Lacquer Mystic Cloud
Green Dots - Sinful Colors Inocent
White Dots - Illamasqua Load

Purple Dots with Glitter - Manicure

Sunday, April 14, 2013
I have a lovely purple manicure to show you today! I absolutely love the base color I used because it is a BRIGHT and gorgeous lavender.

If you follow me on Facebook and Twitter, you already know that I broke my index nail below the quick, and as a result had to file all of my nails down. :/ My finger still hurts from the tear/break.

Here we go!

Polishes used:
Base - Tardy Tart by Sation/Miss Professional
Dark Purple - Miss Emo Shun All by Sation/Miss Prfessional
Light Purple - Marley by Zoya
Glitter - Daddy's Little Girl by Girly Bits

Water Marble Nails

Friday, April 5, 2013
Hello lovelies! I have a cold and have been on the couch for the past two days when not at school. I decided to attempt water marbling again! I am pleased with how these turned out. <3

I know this month is Autism awareness month; blue is the color associated with the movement for education about the lifestyle that these people live. <3 Please educate yourselves on what it means to have Autism.

I went with China Glaze White on White, Re-Fresh Mint and Shower Together.

I added some dots with Shower Together. As you can see, I missed some cleanup on my thumb. =/

Holographic Funky French Nails

Monday, April 1, 2013
Hello, lovelies!

Today I have some holographic nails to show you. They are super shiny, holo, and just perfect.

I used two coats of the green Urban Outfitters Holo for my base. For the clouds, I used one coat of Zoya Charla and finally one coat of Zoya Zuza.

I hope you like them, because I sure do! I can't stop staring at my nails.

Mr. Owl made an appearance again! ;D

An Attempt at a Water Marble Nail Design

Monday, March 25, 2013
Hello lovelies! If you follow me on Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, or Facebook you would have seen a preview of these nails. Pack a Punch Polish did an AWESOME manicure a few days ago; she inspired me to try the process again.

I feel as though these were a fail, but many of you in the polish community said they look fine. Therefore, I have decided to post them on the blog!

I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Sinful Colors Island Coral, Sinful Colors Savage, and Essie Barefoot in Blue (LE).
